Jazz Standard welcomes pianist, composer, and improvisor Orrin Evans this week for a residency showcasing his strengths as both a bandleader and a collaborator. Starting Tuesday night, Evans will take the stage with a succession of outfits—Tarbaby, J.D. Walter, the Orrin Evans Trio, and the Orrin Evans Quintet—with each night featuring a roster of top players, including Nasheet Waits, Eric Revis, and Ralph Alessi.
With two sets per night (plus a late set on Friday and Saturday), the Standard is in for a week of incredible music-making. Information about all of this week’s performances can be found at Jazz Standard's site.
