When I posted my Summertime roundup last week, one notable omission were the Pool Parties, which at that point had not yet been announced for 2010. Well, I'm happy to report: the Pool is Open as of this Sunday, 7/11, on the Williamsburg Waterfront (same location as last year.) And, they're starting things off with a bang: Xiu Xiu and Deerhoof performing Joy Division's Unknown Pleasures, Why?, Fang Island and Pictureplane. Future bills will include such past and present luminaries as Murder City Devils, Cap'n Jazz, No Age, The Strange Boys and Chromeo. And, yes friends, it's all FREE. Get there early.
