About a month ago, I gave a shout-out to Bethany Ryker’s Stochastic Hit Parade, which airs every Sunday night on WFMU. Well, for those of you in the nabe, Bethany will be kicking off a weekly Barbes residency tonight called, appropriately enough, Stochastic Brooklyn. If the radio show is any indication, expect the unexpected, with lots of weird, pretty, astonishing sounds.
Tonight’s lineup features sets at 8 and 10 by minimalist NONLOC (Mark Dwinell) and ambient group Be An Astronaut, with a $10 cover for each. No deadbeats allowed: Bethany will hunt you down and make you pay, just like she’s been doing all week at the wild, woolly WFMU Marathon.
