Roulette Brooklyn

DSC03104This past weekend, the new Roulette Brooklyn – which is still undergoing renovations before it's official opening this fall – hosted a performance of John Cage's 1967 "Musicircus" for "as many performers as possible," part of this year's (otherwise nonexistent) Atlantic Avenue Artwalk. I stopped by the bi-level auditorium yesterday, and saw everyone from Bradford Reed playing his homemade pencilina, to a guy shaking a granny cart full of pots and pans. It was loud, messy and chaotic – precisely what you'd expect from this 30 year old avant-garde institution. Can't wait to see the place in full action this September.
