I made it out to the Williamsburg waterfront this afternoon just in time to catch Deerhoof and Xiu Xiu closing the first Pool Party of 2010, performing Joy Division's Unknown Pleasures. Surprisingly, it's sparsely attended: probably a combination of the World Cup and the fact they really didn't have time to promote it properly. They've moved the stage to the east end of the lot this year to project the noise out into the river, not to mention provide better light for folks like yours truly to take pics.
