I arrived in Montreal this morning, and have been spending the day leisurely sightseeing. A little less than 2 weeks from now, this plaza, the Place des Arts, will be jammed with about 10,000 people for a free show by Stevie Wonder, the first of several free concerts to be held here as part of the 30th annual Festival International de Jazz de Montreal. Its a bit ironic to see GM's logo plastered all over the signs here: guess they snuck their sponsorship in right before that little Chapter 11 thing. Here's hoping organizers have someone lined up to take it over next year. (More pics below.)
