Paper Garden Showcase/Wedding After-Party at Baby’s All Right

DSC04636I'll say this: music people know how to throw a wedding. At Tristan Perich and Lesley Flanigan's nuptials in 2012, the electronic composers gathered around 500 of their closest friends at Roulette to watch Tony Conrad officiate the exchanging of vows, followed by a reception that included a set by Lucky Dragons and Lorna Krier playing Philip Glass' Mad Rush. It was somewhere in between concert and party, with the best of both.

But, history has a funny way of repeating itself, and Paper Garden Records proprietors Bryan Vaughan and Heidi Greenwood – who are also partners in life – decided to host a showcase at Baby's All Right in Williamsburg immediately after getting hitched Saturday night. With a string of heartfelt acoustic sets by Pree, The City and Horses, and the charismatic ARMS (a.k.a. Todd Goldstein), it sure beat the pants off some stupid DJ. "Of course," Heidi said to me, "what else would you expect at our wedding?"

Congrats, guys. Next time, I'll try to wear something a little nicer than sandals. More pics on the photo page.
