Take four percussionists, eight MacBooks, and a pair of electronic pranksters, put it all together, and you get a hot mess of sound that falls somewhere between computer music and Coney Island. Whatever it is, So Percussion, Matmos and the Princeton Laptop Orchestra (a.k.a. PLOrk) lit things up last night at The Kitchen, where they played pieces written by members of all three ensembles. The whole thing was (barely) held together by PLOrk founder Dan Trueman, and certainly grabbed your attention. Only beef: what's with all the dudes? C'mon, this ain't Vienna. (More pics below.)
