These photos are fantastic! I was at the concert last night and also at Zankel Hall tonight. His recent compositions are among his best. Just simply unbelievable and enlightening to be able to have him with us and composing as prolifically at such a mature age. The Rite of Spring was the best i have ever heard, and Carter’s piece is one of his best, and last night’s performance will be talked about for decades! Cheers! Thanks for sharing these photos!

Thanks for your comment. It wasn’t the best technical performance of Rite of Spring I’ve ever heard (the orchestra sounded stiff and the horns were off), but probably one of the most meaningful.
Great photos, Pete! And so many of them–kudos.
I enjoyed the evening immensely, and Carter’s new piece will no doubt benefit from additional hearings; I liked it a lot, but it’s typically complex.
And that “Rite” was pretty sizzling.
