Before the night gets started in earnest, I stop by a storefront on Queen St. West called the Toronto Center for the Advancement of Music, where John Farah (whom you'll remember from the first Feast of Music Presents in April) and Attila Fias played their original compositions for two pianos. The brilliant, high energy music swerved between classical and jazz, with an occasional metal detour. John told us he wrote the last speedball piece in two days during their recording session last week; consensus was that it was the best of the lot.
