After the New Amsterdam show at The Bell House, I rode the G up to Don Pedro's: an old Spanish social club on the fringes of Williamsburg that now hosts DIY indie shows in its spacious – if scuzzy – back room. Boston trio Streight Angular played an engaging set of power pop led by singer/guitarist Al Polk, who I introduced himself to me down at SXSW last month. Al, who also runs Polk Records, is a dreamer in the best sense of the word, full of big and strange ideas for his ever-growing stable of bands.
