The "new" sound of this year's SXSW seems to land squarely in the 60's, somewhere between electric Dylan and The Kinks, with a bit of early Stones thrown in for good measure. It's particularly true of bands from Austin: last night, it was The Strange Boys at Club 1808; tonight, it's Wine and Revolution, who are playing the courtyard stage at Spider House on the north side of town. It's hard to discredit musicians with these kinds of chops, but will it stick? I mean, where's the new?
