Feast of Music covers live music in NYC, and occasionally other places. Launched in 2007, it aspires to give equal voice to all kinds of music: everything from an indie show in a Williamsburg dive, to an orchestra concert in Carnegie Hall. New York Guitar Festival: Pepe Romero Plays All-Bach Program

As the story goes, Pepe Romero’s father. Celedonio Romero, played him into this world with music by Bach, and when Celedonio was on his deathbed, Pepe was there to play him out (with Bach of course). So as you might imagine when Pepe Romero kicked of the New York Guitar Festival with an All-Bach program Friday night at Brookfield Place it was an emotional affair for him, and, incidentally, for the audience as well. The Romero family has been oft dubbed, “the royal family of the guitar,” and Pepe proudly carries that tradition. From birth Pepe has had a healthy respect for the powerful music of Bach, and his father would have been proud of last nights presentation.
