In case you missed last week’s broadcast, the New York Phil has put the audio of last week’s concert in Pyongyang, North Korea, up on its website. You can hear it anytime between now and March 14. Hearing them play the American national anthem just gave me goosebumps all over again.
If you’re in New York, you can catch the Philharmonic starting tomorrow, in its first subscription concerts since returning from their Asian tour. Music Director-designate Alan Gilbert conducts Berio’s Folk Songs with Dawn Upshaw, sandwiched by Haydn and Beethoven symphonies. Go and give them a warm welcome home.
