I’ve pretty much stopped plugging shows before they happen (the Concert Calendar serves that purpose), but I’ll make an exception for this Friday’s event at Celebrate Brooklyn, which marks the Wordless Music Series’ first venture into the great outdoors. Ronen is scheming to unleash some serious sonic mayhem, courtesy of The Rite of Spring (in a new version being referred to as, “an electronica-classical mashup…with a huge battery of brass and percussion) and Oakland noise gods Deerhoof. (Go here for a glimpse of what to expect from them.) Clear your schedules, people: this should be Epic.
For those of you who aren’t in New York, or can’t make your way out to Brooklyn, the concert is being broadcast live on NPR, starting at 7:30 EST.
