Such is how David – a former fellow – refers to Tanglewood and its environs, where I’m headed tomorrow for the umpteenth consecutive summer (give or take an ump). On the agenda: Tanglewood’s Festival of Contemporary Music, which this year celebrates the centenary of Elliott Carter, the Bang on a Can Marathon at Mass MoCA (with guest composer Terry Riley), and the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival in nearby Hillsdale, NY.
