I will admit that I don't understand the mass frenzy surrounding former Columbia U brats Vampire Weekend, to the point where their success makes me leery of the hype-machine's vulnerability to manipulation. I mean, they're a perfectly capable foursome with a pleasant, easily digestible sound, but are they deserving of this 20,000-strong throng?
