There are countless correspondents covering this year's CMJ Music Marathon (including, in typically half-assed fashion, your's truly), but for quality and insight, you can't beat the battery of Times critics (Jon Pareles, Nate Chinen, Jon Caramanica), who've been staying up until the wee hours jotting down their musings. For their efficiency and humor, though, my favorites by far have been Ben Sisario's Haiku-esque "Four-Word Reviews":
Pattern Is Movement: Lumberjack looks, sensitive ululations.
Women: Four boys, strangled chords.
Oxford Collapse: Snarling, invigorating punk chants.
Crystal Stilts: Juxtaposition: gloomy and scrappy.
