Walking across Union St. trying to catch up with Marc Ribot's Gowanus soundwalk, I pass this old factory space and hear the slow movement from Beethoven's 4th piano concerto coming from inside. I look in, and its all old timber, with brass chandeliers and tables set up for a reception. I sit on the curb and listen to the rest of the movement, the music intermittently interrupted by the drone of passing cars, bikes and strollers, the interplay echoing that the piano makes with the orchestra.
