The French Legation Museum, an historic homestead just east of I-35, has been home to some of the happiest times I've had at SXSW, with the sun setting over rolling lawns and the trees bright with spring blossoms. The XX, one of the UKs hottest bands, is on in the big tent in 20 minutes, but out in the grass right now is Holly Miranda: a softspoken Brit making her first trip to Austin. If the guy dancing in a trance-like state under the cherry tree didn't get you, the Sparklehorse cover/tribute ("He was a huge fucking influence on me") sure as hell did.
