Every fan of Broken Social Scene owes it to themselves to see them in their hometown at least once. When they’re here, everyone joins in: not just Charles, Brendan and Kevin, but Emily (Metric) and Leslie (Feist) – not to mention electronics, strings, and a full brass section. The sound of the full complement 20 musicians onstage was overpowering, oscillating back and forth between the two speaker towers.
As the sun went down behind us, Kevin told us all to turn around for a minute and take it in. “Don’t forget to breathe, and don’t forget to look up.
