OkayAfrica Party @ Celebrate Brooklyn

DSC05244A huge, overflow crowd packed Celebrate Brooklyn on Sunday for the OkayAfrica Party to coincide with the World Cup Finals in South Africa. I only got there in time to catch the end of Bajah + The Dry Eye Crew's rocking set, but stayed for all of The Roots, who performed with Brooklyn rap legend Talib Kweli. An absolutely electric performance – especially when Cap'n Kirk tore into his guitar, ripping out a cover of Guns 'n Roses' "Sweet Child o' Mine" like he was Slash. Without the tophat.
