While I was busy flitting around ACL yesterday, we lost two of the most extraordinary singers of the 20th Century: Solomon Burke – "The King of Rock and Soul" – and Joan Sutherland, the peerless Australian soprano known as "La Stupenda" and "The Voice of the Century."
