"Team" is the first word that comes to mind after seeing The Static Jacks perform live at the Music Hall of Williamsburg last night. The five uniquely dynamic players in this band deliver pure synergy and give off a very connected presence. They are passionate performers and seemed to be having the time of their life onstage. It's hard to say whether their sound is more punk or more indie rock. Either way, they're driving a locomotive and everything about their show says: "All aboard." (They released their first full length album in August 2011, titled, "If You're Young.")
They opened for Mission of Burma and lead vocalist, Ian Davaney said it was an honor to open for a legend. The Static Jacks One of my initial thoughts when I saw them take the stage was, "Boy, these guys are young compared to the headliners." Which meant that just about everyone in the audience could tap back into their inner undergrad. Fun to watch.
